From the dawn of civilization, humans have used natural objects such as shell, bone and colorful stones, strung on rawhide to adorn themselves and their clothing. This was believed to bestow magical powers on the wearer. From hunting prowess to protection from harm to religious power, beads have long been held as sacred objects. This jewelry is designed around lampworked glass beads that are fashioned from Italian Moretti Glass. The beads are created using the same techniques developed by Venetian artisans in the 1200’s. Torch flame heats the glass to 1700° F, and molten glass is wrapped around a metal mandrel with exactitude to create this timeless work of beauty. Enjoy your adornment knowing that you are wearing a work of art as well as a handcrafted object of beauty!
